Insurance & DBS Policy

Every Cleaner on the Cleana Platform must satisfy our insurance and background-check requirements before they can accept bookings.

Public liability insurance

Minimum £1,000,000 cover, valid throughout the period the Cleaner is active on the Platform. A current certificate must be uploaded to the Cleaner's profile.

DBS checks

All Cleaners hold a current Basic DBS check. Enhanced DBS checks are required where the work involves vulnerable adults, regulated activity, or working in environments where children are present.

Right to work

Cleaners must provide evidence of the right to work in the UK in line with Home Office guidance.

Re-verification

DBS checks are re-verified at least every 3 years, or sooner if a safeguarding concern is raised. Insurance is re-verified annually.

Tax compliance

Cleaners confirm they are registered with HMRC for income tax (and VAT where applicable). Cleana reports earnings to HMRC under the Platform Operator Reporting Rules.
